Prof. Dr. Pavel Krasilnikov
Responsible for the analytical and research activities in the area related to land resources and their degradation. Coordinates interaction with international bodies within this area, including in the frames of Global Soil Partnership; acts as an Executive Secretary of the subregional Eurasian Soil Partnership.
Graduated the Faculty of Soil Science of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1992. Worked as a Research Officer and Head of the Laboratory of Soil Ecology and Soil Geography of the Institute of Biology of the Karelian Research Center of Russian Academy of Sciences. For many years has been teaching and making research in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Professor of the Faculty of Soil Science of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The author of more than 180 research publications mainly in the area of pedology, including eight books and textbooks. Coordinated multiple research projects in the frames of the state program of the Russian Academy of Sciences, grants of Russian Foundation for Basic Research, project of Federal Task Programs, as well as of Mexican scientific foundations. Teaching from 1994, for the moment developed and taught more that 15 general and special courses. Prepared 17 graduate and post-graduate students.
Candidate of Science (Ph.D.), 1996. Doctor of Science (Dr. habil), 2009. Member of the Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils (FAO) for 2013-2017. Participates in the activities of the Working Group on Food Security of the European Academies Scientific Advisory Council. Member of the Central Committee of the Dokuchaev Soil Science Society. Served as Vice-Chair of the Commission 1.4 “Soil Classification” of the International Union of Soil Science in 2010-2014. Member of the Editorial Boards of the journals Geoderma and Geoderma Regional (Elsevier), Eurasian Soil Science (MAIK-Nauka), and Boletin de la Sociedad Geologica Mexicana (UNAM, Mexico).
