Economist graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a postgraduate degree from New York University (NYU), United States.
He has fulfilled several public functions in Argentina, being Secretary of Industry and Commerce, Undersecretary of Policy and External Commercial Management, Undersecretary of International Economic Relations of the Province of Buenos Aires, General Manager of the National Foreign Trade Commission and Chief Economist of the Commission National Defense of Competition. He has been an instructor of the World Trade Organization and a professor at several Argentine universities.
He is currently a professor and researcher at the Instituto Universitario Escuela Argentina de Negocios, a researcher from the Group of Southern Producing Countries (GPS) and a consultant to international organizations (FAO, BID).
He has been a member of the editorial committee of the report on Food and Nutrition Security in the Americas: A Vision from the Academies of Sciences (IANAS) and is currently a member of the editorial committee of the Global Report on Food and Nutrition Security (IAP).
